Thom Yorke worked with Rag & Bone for five months to compile the perfect soundtrack for their show at the New York Fashion Week. "A lot of bass this season. At the men’s show, we blew out a speaker," says Style designer David Neville.
Thom's short but sweet playlist includes:
Squarepusher - Freeman, Hardy, and Willis Acid Modeselektor - Dark Side of the Sun Björk - The Dull Flame of Desire Charles Mingus - II B.S. Björk and Thom have previously worked on music together for the songs I've Seen It All (Dancer In The Dark) and Icelandic environmental support song Nattúra, and Thom has with Radiohead in a webcast covered Unravel, which he previously has described as his favourite song ever. Check it out on youtube. |

This is what we have to post today:
"As UNICEF is our official charity, we are appealing for people to support UNICEF's Haiti Children's Emergency Appeal.
A devastating earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Haiti on 12 January 2010, causing an unfolding humanitarian crisis. Early news reports indicate that schools have collapsed, homes destroyed, and hospitals overwhelmed by the large numbers of injured coming in for medical assistance.
UNICEF is deploying necessary supplies to Jacmel and Port-au-Prince as quickly as possible to assist with recovery efforts including clean water and sanitation, therapeutic foods, medical supplies and temporary shelter. The organisation will be focusing on children who have become separated from their families to protect them from harm or exploitation.
Expert estimates suggest that 46 per cent of Haiti’s nearly 10 million people are under 18 years of age. The special needs of children for food, shelter and protection must be factored in at the very outset of relief efforts and UNICEF will do everything in its power to make sure these needs are met.
Please show your support and donate now to help children affected by the Haiti earthquake. You can donate online at www.unicef.org.uk/haiti Thanks, UNICEF UK" |

The Moomin trolls are back, and this time they are dancing to Björk's flute.
Well, we cannot confirm that there will be any actual flutes or dancing involved, BUT! Björk and Sjón have put their creative heads together again and made a -- we know you love these next two words -- new song especially for the film "Moomins and the Comet Chase", which is made by finnish children's movie company Filmkompaniet, and it will be coming to the cinemas in August/September 2010.
We're delighted but certainly not surprised, as we know both of them to be big Moomin fans and they've both been seen wearing them on their sleeves, or rather t-shirts and neckties. (Sjón had small moomins on his tie when receiving the Nordic Literature Price a couple of years ago.)
Little My whispered to Meester Fly that the song is called The Comet Song but when we asked her for more information, all she said was "Hah! Luuletko että minä olen joku juoruämmä!" Well, I never! |
